Happy Birthday, Harley!

It's my little puppeh's turn today! He's exactly three weeks younger than Tucker, but much, much feistier. Here are some (slightly blurry) pics of him gnawing on his birthday apple.

After a few minutes of this, I took pity on him and cut the apple up. I split it between both dogs, just like I split up Tucker's hamburger on his birthday.

Share and share alike in the motto in my house!

Happy birfday, Harleh! Wow - an apple as a treat? What a good ideer. I'll bet it cleans their teeth, too.

It certainly freshens their breath!

They love, love, love fruits and veggies. I feed them all sorts of fruits (bananas are their fave), and veggies like peas and green beans.

My vet, he is happy!

And carrots, can't forget the peeled baby carrots. The pups'll practically turn themselves inside out for carrots!

doglet will eat pretty much anything, but I never thought of giving her fruit as a treat - will start doing. :)

Don't ever feed her grapes, though.
Those are very bad for dogs!

My puppehs like bananas, nectarines, peaches, apples, pears...I think those are all I've tried. I'm too chicken to try watermelon, don't want them getting the runs!

Oh, and never feed your pup onions or garlic.

Or raisins or prunes. I've got a list on the side of the fridge.

Before I scrolled down and saw the badge for the Italian Greyhound Group I was gonna ask if Harley was a full size or Italian. I take it Tucker's Italian, too?

I had a friend in college who rescued full sized Greyhounds. He had 2. They were such babees.

My dogs love peaches, but i only give them slices, never whole and only out in the yard.

Couorse they like lettuce, tomatoes, basically anything that doesn't eat them first. Boo especially likes chili and spaghetti, sauce and pasta.

Yup, Holly! Both are IGs, Tucker is larger (a bruiser!) at around 18 pounds, while Harley is more average at 13. I really, really want a retired racing greyhound, but you definitely need a large, fenced-in yard to do that. Ah, well, someday...
Thanks for visiting, and for adding to my "taboo-food" list.
