I was mesmerized...

by the signs in a restaurant window.

Silver and I were eating dinner at Jason's Deli last Friday, a tradition for us on her yearly band festival day, since the festival is held at UNLV's Hamm Concert Hall and Jason's is just down the street. Since it's been quite some time since I was there last, a new restaurant has moved in across the way, Jollibee, whose front windows were visible from where I was sitting inside Jason's.

Can someone please explain to me what the fuck "Crispy Chickenjoy" or "Juicy Yumburger" mean?!

Okay, so "yumburger" isn't so bad, but "CHICKENJOY"??!!

I don't think I want anything to do with anything that makes chickens joyful.

Silver had to repeatedly get my attention because I kept staring out the window at "Crispy Chickenjoy".

Maybe I'm just weird.

*gigglesnort*....I had a lookout sent to me the other day that described the subject as wearing "Bobo's" for shoes (have you heard that term? Ghetto for generic sneakers).....*snicker*

I thought Bobo was a clown?!

Chickenjoy??? Sounds like some form of bestiality?

That sign alone would be enough to make me avoid the place. It reminds me of those Quizno's commercials that had that singing rodent like thing. It made me think that there shops must be rat infested.

Well, it's apparently a fast-food chain super popular in the Philippines, so who knows? I checked out the menu, and there are some items I'd have to be paid to try!

"Crispy Chickenjoy"

Sounds like something off a Chinese restaurant menu. About which... I've seen worse. Much worse, although nothing other than "Three Delicious" (that was IT, nothing more. I had to ask.) comes to mind. It wasn't.

It wasn't.

LOL!

It almost reminds of the roasted ducks on display in the windows of dining establishments in Hong Kong.

Head, beak, feet, and all...

But at least with the ducks, you know what you're getting..."crispy chickenjoy" could be ANYTHING!!

Weird is good, when normal is so strange.

'ChickenJoy'?!? Ok... I would have been taking pictures in front of that place and posting them.

That's easy. They were named by Asians. I bet that totally makes sense now.

Jethro said...

oops. I just realized that the people in your comments picked it up already.

Carteach, I didn't have my camera with me! And I haven't figured out how to transfer pics from my new phone onto my 'puter. Yet!

Jethro, you crack me up as usual!
