I'm 41 years old and I've NEVER suffered from seasonal allergies or hayfever in my life. Now it's like all the local vegetation has suddenly declared war on me and I feel like hammered shit. WTF, North Texas, WTF?!
In other news, I just took my second statistics exam, and except for two questions that weren't supposed to be on the exam (*grumble grumble*), I think I did fairly well.
A & P II is going swimmingly as well, and I'm on track to apply on May 1st for the next nursing class starting this fall. It's about damn time.

Yeah, there is that. Drink stupid amounts of water. Yes, it will make you pee a lot, but it will help.

While I was a sickly child, I never had 'allergy problems'. I used to make fun of my dad, with his sneezing/blowing, which he called hay fever. Then I turned 30and someone threw a switch!

My eyes bother me the most: puffy, red, itchy, watery. The runny nose I can handle. The headache is no fun, though.

I never had problems with allergies until I moved into this house. Carpet is coming out as fast as I can afford and I am taking allergy shots.
You will get into school, your determination alone tells me that!
I am also sad. After 11 years of teaching part time I will not return in the fall. Students like you kept me coming back, but they are hard to find here now.

I didn't have any allergies until I moved here, so I can sympathize. Benadryl at bedtime and Claritin in the morning. And yes, drink water until you feel like you're going to dissolve.

Try Visine-A drops for the eyes. That does wonders for me, though my allergies have gotten much better as I've gotten older.
I didn't have allergies until I moved to central Califreakia! I got allergy shots for five years, that greatly reduced my symptoms. Still take Claritin year-round because I'm allergic to pretty much everything -- trees, grasses, & weeds in the dry season, and mold and mildew in the wet. Here's what works for me:
Loratadine (best price: two-pack at Wally World, unless you have a Costco card, I don't), which is the active ingredient in Claritin.
And... Have you thought about trying a Neti pot? Some people are grossed out by just the idea of rinsing their nose & sinuses, but it really works.

First, Congrats on school. I know the nursing program will HAVE to accept you.
Second, North Texas is the allergy capital of North Texas. My solution for my kids [ I don't have these types of allergies, please don't hate me] was allergy eye drops, benadryl at night to help you sleep, an allergy nasal spray of your choice and a sinus rinse every other day. Don't use the pot, the bottle kind is MUCH easier.

Sorry to hear about the allergies. Outside of my trips to Texas, I never seem to have that problem.
