I'm in LOVE...

with my new Kindle. I can't get over the fact that if I find a book I like, it takes me about twenty seconds to purchase it and transfer it to my Kindle. It's lighter and less bulky than a book, and I can have HUNDREDS of books on there. I can turn it off, and when I turn it back on, it's on the same page I left it. I can adjust the font size, too.

*happy sigh*

Now I can start rebuilding my library, and finish getting rid of my dead-tree books (except for those that have sentimental value, of course!)

I love my Kindle, and I love living in the future!

Great! I might have to get one of those things.

I love my Kindle too, even though it's obsolete! When I took the train every day, my Kindle was my mOst beloved tech gear. Now that I have an iPhone, however, I find thE convenience of having 300 books in my cell outweighs tue small screen. Still -- All Hail Kindle!!

I'm trying to figure out if I want to go that route. I honestly like flipping pages. Something about having an actual book in my hands.

Hi, Christina. I sent an email message to you.

I don't have a kindle, I have a color nook. I have - so far - only used it for books that I have downloaded that are in the public domain. I STILL go out and get paper books...

I find it's FAR too easy for me to purchase books now.

I have no nostalgia for paper books. At all. I want the content, the format is irrelevant. The Kindle is light, handy, and easy to use. It's perfect for me!

A friend gave me a Nook, and I love it! I thought I'd miss turning pages the old fashioned way, but I don't. I don't know that I'll ever actually fill up the memory with 1500 books as advertised -- but it's only been a few weeks and I already have a couple dozen downloaded. All those books in under a half inch of horizontal space! I also love having the option of downloading a free e-book every Friday (even if you sometimes get what you "pay" for). Part of me feels like I've entered the age of Star Trek when I'm reading my Nook. :)

And now a reply (oops, two) for you. (Thanks)

I just can't bring myself to make the transition from paper to screen, I think I'll wait awhile.

Purplemagpiesnest, I'm a loyal Amazon.com customer, so I never considered anything BUT a Kindle...and it was a lovely, lovely gift from dear friends, to boot. I'm so stoked to get so many books, so easily and cheaply!

Thud, I thought the same as you, a few years ago. Reading books online converted me, and being able to do so in a hand-held device is simply amazing.
