Nice Mom...?

Here's Silver with her new (purple) hair.

Our fabulous hairstylist, Mitchi, of Limelight Salon, did her usual incredible job.

There was a teenaged boy getting his hair cut at the next station, and when his mother saw the purple dye being applied to Silver's hair, she exclaimed to me, "You're such a nice mom to allow her to color her hair like that!"

While I was scrambling for a reply, since this came out of the blue, she said with her very next breath, "I would never let my kids do that!"

While I was telling her my stance on all this, namely that it's just hair, people, and everyone needs to relax, what I was really thinking was, if I'm the nice mom for doing this, and she'd never...doesn't that make her the "bitch-mom"?!

Just sayin'...

LOVE the purple!!! More so then the Blue!!

My mom always told me that it's the only hair I'm gonna have and one day it'll fall out or turn gray!! So far it's turning gray!

That poor lady apologized to you for being wound too tight. How nice.
The purple? I couldn't do it to me, be on Silver it looks just dandy.

Thanks, Don!

It's her only indulgence, really.
The girl hates make-up, refuses to wear any clothes or shoes she deems to be uncomfortable, heck, she doesn't even want to pierce her ears!

So I don't sweat the hair, and I actually think it's really, really cool.

BTW, Don...got the book yesterday (2nd Day Air, my ASS!), will start reading/devouring today!

Hope you enjoy it.

Keep on rockin' the technicolor hair, Silver!!!
I mean, holy shit, if you're EVER going to do something fun with your hair, shouldn't it be while you are young? I've had every color except blue and green, and I've loved chasing the spectrum. Why the hell not.

No, not NICE mom: COOL mom.

Thanks, Phlegm!

My coworker A., who's 29, told me wistfully that SHE had always wanted purple hair when she was in high school, but her parents wouldn't let her.

I don't get it, it's just HAIR. You can chop it off, and it'll grow back. You can color it, and change the color the very next day, if you want to. I think it's fun to mess around with, but since I work for a hotel/casino, I can't go the funky haircolor/hairstyle route.

So I say let her color her hair, dammit!

Now's the time for her to experiment, since she'll be a grown-up all too soon.
