You can but a Roku for about $60 (more if you want more features) that will allow you to stream Hulu and other offerings wirelessly to your TV. Most of the gaming consoles offer that option now too. I haven't used the Roku, but a quick Google will set you up with plenty who have. I use the PS3 and haven't had any problems streaming TV through it.
easiest way imo is to use the built in hulu app in a game console: PS3, Wii, etc if you have one available.
I've found it cumbersome to use a laptop to tv connection. Consoles come with the necessary cables, have built in wifi and wireless controllers are pretty common. I don't have a remote control for my laptop and having to buy special cables can get pricy.
Roku box was in our short-list of options too if you want a half-handed endorsement on that. The player we got beat it out basically entirely by virtue of doing everything a roku will, plus a couple other things, plus adding blu-ray support, and doing it all in the same price range. As far as difficulty, getting it network connected just took entering the wi-fi password via handheld remote and all the joy that entails. Reprogramming our universal remote took more work.
I just un hook my monitor plug this in and run standard RCA cables to my DVD/VCR in ports and click it over to line in and voila I can watch Hulu Youtube and everything else on my TV.
One thing about Hulu is that some of their content is Web only so it will not stream to devices like Roku or PS3 so be sure to check if the content you want to watch is available on those devices.

If you had a USB to Midi connector, it would probably work...
Have an HDMI port on your TV and laptop?
If so just buy a cord, plug it in, and watch. That's what I do.
We're planning on upgrading our computers and just wiring up the older ones to the TVs and Wi-Fi

I second the recommendation for a Roku box. Just get a spare remote. Darn things are so small they're easy to lose.
Hmmm...three recommendations for Roku. It has to be easy, that's the main requirement for a pseudo-Luddite like myself. ;)
