in the backyard!
Critters (most likely coyotes) nabbed one of the neighbors' chickens in our backyard.
It looks like a down pillow exploded back there and my dogs are going crazy sniffing, sniffing, sniffing everywhere. Not to mention peeing.
I'm amazed at how long my wimpy dogs stayed out in the cold this evening, investigating all the intriguing scents. Maybe they aren't such high-maintenance, etepetete wusses after all!

If your dogs are small enough, coyotes will regard them as food.

Thanks, Hank. I'm always aware of that. My dogs are fast, but I don't know that they'd even see coyotes as threats, they'd probably try to make friends! They are never outside unsupervised.
I'd never considered that there might be coyotes in Mass. I learn sumthin' every day!
Buck, coyotes are one of the most adaptable (and OPPORTUNISTIC!) critters out there. There are coyotes in Central Park, NYC.
But Christina, they ARE etepetete :-) And you DO need to be careful... What ever it was will be back.
