Sometimes it's GREAT to have a non-fussy child.
What's even better is her insistence on my driving her to the prom location (she's going with a bunch of friends); she's positively gleeful at the prospect of driving up amongst all the shiny limos in our beat-up, five year old Hyundai.
What can I say? She likes making a statement. As a matter of fact, she really wanted to wear a tux to prom, to protest all of the fuss and excess, but I gently pointed out that they probably don't make tuxes small enough to fit her.
So she picked out a plain, black dress that happens to look fabulous on her...for $14.99 plus tax.
Yeah, I know I got lucky!

I was in a club that used formal dresses for special occasions. My favorite dress I ever owned was a yellow number with chiffon overlay that had blue flowers on it from circa 1973. It was totally awesome and it was free!
Even better, Blondie!
Silver's very, very picky about clothes, meaning they have to be comfortable. Plus, nothing too provocative or too short, etc.
So I'm happy she liked the fifth dress she tried on!
A girl after my own heart. I never went to a prom, but the best dress I ever bought was for a college formal. It was silver and I wore it with a pair of doc martens.
Nice! She's wearing boots with her dress, too. Snazzy black leather ankle boots!
Boots? Sweet! I should seriously do the same, cause I LOVE high heel boots. Especially the ones Victoria Beckham was wearing when she was promoting her new perfume a LONG time ago. They were heeless. Don't ask me how I know that type of stuff, I just do. I'd really like to see a picture of her in the full on outfit. It sounds pretty kick ASS.
"Yeah, I know I got lucky! "
That you did. And some guy is gonna be lucky, as well, some day.
Apropos of nothing: TSMP bought her wedding dress in a second-hand store. I got twice what she paid for it in my "going out of bidniz" sale, 20+ years later. So I know from whence you speak.
Chaos, I'll make sure to take LOTS of pictures, 'k?
I think I saw images of those Victoria Beckham boots...gravity-defying, somehow!
Buck, that's a very nice thing to say! Hopefully the lucky fella is willing to wait a long, long time. For MY peace of mind!
Bargain hunting rules, btw.
Awesome deal! The cheapest prom dress I saw was $69.99. It's Silver got one much cheaper! I'd like to see some pictures.
Tally, your wish is my command. Stay tuned to this station for future prom pictures...;)
Must. See. Pics. She'll be gorgeous, of course! ;)
Oh, believe me: There will be pics galore. I won't be able to help myself!
