I am made of Fail

Today, for the first time ever, I called a client by the wrong name.

Granted, that's not quite as awkward as calling out the wrong name in the throes of passion, but still embarrassing.

In my defense, I corrected myself immediately, and the guest didn't appear to even care that I briefly called him "Mike" instead of "Jim", but the humiliation lingers in my mind.

I'm just like that. Why can't I replay my triumphs over and over again, instead of my foot-in-mouth moments?

I don't know, but I wish I could change it.

You know, honey - everyone makes a mistake like that now and again. Trust me, that guy probably won't even remember that. Forgive yourself - only a complete 'tard would be upset at someone for mistaking their name in that context. I mean, is he someone you've massaged for years and years - long-term client? If not, then I'd say you get a total pass on this one. If it bothers you that much, then work on testing and improving your memory. Punishing yourself, however, is something I strictly forbid you to do any longer - you're too good a person to be so mean to yourself. Okay? Are we green?

Jim didn't give a damn, and he tipped me very well, too. It's just that I'm normally so good at remembering names! Thing was, I called him by the name of a client I massaged earlier in the day. I caught it immediately but was mentally kicking myself. Oh, well, I'll get over it pretty quickly, I'm sure. Thanks for the very kind words, by the way!

I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

If I had met you the day before and had a lengthy conversation and you did that it might be different but I'm sure the client didn't give it a second thought either.

Joey, I'm mentally chanting the client's name from the moment I pick up the ticket to the time the massage starts. And sometimes during the massage, too. Just so things like this never happen. But the lead aesthetician was helping out at the front desk when I dropped the ticket off after the massage, and she laughed and said it happened to her ALL THE TIME! Yikes!

LoL!!! I'm not going to say what I REALLY want to since I know who ur talking about. Was the hand writing clear? That could have been it.

The ticket was fine, Cookie, it was my brain that screwed up. Just for a second...

BTW...a certain male former spa attendant recently promoted to front desk supervisor has put in his two weeks notice! I thought that would make you happy...:)
