IMHO that should actually read, "If your child is less than 12 years old, don't bring him to the dog park."
Small / young kids have no business being at a dog park, especially if they have not been taught that the dog park isn't there for them to run and play or how to approach a strange dog.
It was pathetic. This kid was maybe six or so, and kept running to put his back to the fence, shouting (at the top of his lungs), "You better stay away from me, I mean it, or you'll be sorry!" This was in the "small-dog area", too! My dogs tried approaching, ears up, tails up and a-waggin', and the decible level and pitch of the brat's voice went through the stratosphere. There oughtta be a law!

OMG - that's unconscionable - taking a frightened small child around all those animals! For shame.
