My oldest daughter informed me gleefully last night that she was on her way to her very first D & D campaign. A bunch of her friends got together and decided to start a regular one up. Every Sunday at 7:30. While I'm absolutely thrilled at this development, what made me tear up is the fact that she's using MY DICE, the very ones I used, lo these many years ago, in my own RPG's.
Family heirloom dice. That earns us some serious geek cred right there!

Sunrise, sunset.
Nice that you could actually FIND them :-)
Find them?! HAH! She STOLE them from me, my Preciousssssss...
Several years ago, in fact... ;)
They do know that heirloom dice add +10% to xp, right?
Stingray, I wasn't aware of that! I'll have to point that out to Silver, see if her DM knows...LOL.
That's awesome! That may make you the Geek Queen.
And remember, as she heads over to the great world of D&D: Friends don't let friends play 4th edition.
Cool!
Having finally started playing again after way way too long of a hiatus, I'm keeping my dice warmed for when my kids are ready in a few years...
Priest, I believe she mentioned something about "2.0"...2nd edition?
"Geek Queen"? I'd wear that crown proudly. :)
Sean, that's something I need to do: find a friendly group to play with. *sigh*
WOW! Good to see the art is still alive and well.
Also gives an idea for a stocking stuffer for Xmas :)
Y'know, I never have played that game. I purposely and assiduously avoided it. The reason, of course, was that I knew I'd become hooked if I ever played it even once...
Chris, you have inspired me! Thanks. :)
Jim, my roommate wants me to try this MORPG, and it does look like a TON of fun, but I declined for exactly the same reason you avoided D&D...I'd get hooked and I'd never get anything else done!
I have no idea what all you nerds are talking about.
I get other stuff done .... wait .. what day is it again ?
