Overheard inside a treatment room...

Clueless Client (C.C.): Yeah, so my nephew used to do this when he was in college.

Elisha: Oh, what's that?

C.C.: He used to do massage. Then he got a REAL job.

Elisha (blink blink): Hm. Oh, really?!

C.C.: I didn't mean it THAT way!!

Elisha: ... (thinking: RIIIGHT! Asshole.)

I really can't make this shit up.

Years ago my own sister-in-law told me that "only people who are not smart major in education." It never dawned on her that I was an education major. I just figured that people like her with no social skills majored in accounting so they could sit in a room and add numbers all day.

Ouch!

I'm sorry, B.B. That's something I imagine you never forget.

C.C. was very nice otherwise, I just peg him as somewhat thoughtless. The kind of person who never learned to think before he speaks.

I'm thinking a much more "vigorous" massage would be in order following a comment like that. Something ouch-invoking, yanno?

Elisha told me that she just wasn't into the massage at all after that. She felt that since he thought she was a joke, why should she bother?

Wow - ask Elisha which was harder:
-massaging a client with his foot in his mouth, or
-massaging a client with his head up his ass?

Sounds very difficult to achive myofascial release, in either case.

Heh, you just LOVE saying "myofascial release", don't you? It must be gratifying to successfully work it into a conversation. ;)
I'll be sure to ask her, SCI-FI...she was reading over my shoulder as I wrote it, and asked me several times over the afternoon whether anyone had commented yet. :D

I seldom get to work that (myofascial release) into a conversation where it won't get me slapped or fired, so there you go.

:)

Wow. People can be so thoughtless.

Indeed, Phlegmmy! Myself included, though I hope I've improved over time. :)

I have a buddy who is a physical therapy assistant. One time, his grandmother asked him, "You still got that job where you rub on people?" LOL!

LOL! Grandmas are the best for plain talk, aren't they?
