Sunday Haiku

Leaves pattering down
like a dessicated rain
Fall melancholy

Your leaves are falling ALREADY? Wow...

Nice haiku.

That was MY reaction this morning, too! Walking my dogs in a shower of leaves...depressing.

Thank you, Sir.

I was trying to think of a word like melancholy. I had to look that one up.

Anyway, I met with an old friend passing through town, and she is now 30 years older than when we last met.

While having lunch at the airport she made a facial gesture (wetting her lips with her tongue). Flashback, and I saw her exactly as she was at age 19. I hadn't remembered her little habit.

It was an instant feeling of where did all the years go! How did we get so old. I felt like I was falling.

I didn't say anything, but I think she may have thought I was having a petit mal seizure while staring at her face much too long.

Falling leaves...

Anonymous, just don't let another thirty years go by! THAT would be beyond melancholy.

Your comment was poetic without a poem.
