Except for almonds, I'm pretty sure none of the others on this list grow in Germany. If I'm wrong, let me know in the comments.
I know, maybe the roasting method is particularly German! Or maybe I'm being far too generous. After all, they were also selling "sausage on a stick"...

That's sort of like German Chocolate Cake. I know of no "German Chocolate Cake" in Germany, although there are many delectable kinds of chocolate cake, none of which involve icing (yuck!) of any kind, unlike the American variety.
Maybe the sign got misprinted and was actually supposed to read "German's Nuts" - Did you ask the vendor if his name was Friedrich and if they were indeed his nuts?
I can't believe you are cracking on Germanfest! Okay so yeah maybe its been Americanized but still its lots of beer and Polka dancers. LOL This makes the first year I've missed it in probably 10 years. Not that I went for the food, just the beverages, music, and eye candy.

A, maybe it sucked because it was pretty much winding down? The Kettlecorn lady told me that the place was packed Friday and Saturday. Plus, I don't/can't drink beer, so that was out. And I didn't notice any particular eye candy, either. Maybe I'm just too picky.
Perhaps zey were unusually efficient and hairy nuts?
