Okay, when I first read looked at this post, my mind saw "is it ok to have a few screws left over from your ankle?". This caused a flashback of the day the docs removed the screws from my right ankle. Which in turn caused memory of the pain, which is still vived 25 years later. Shudder...
Buckskins Rule, I'm sorry you misread...I had ORIF on my left elbow almost 20 years ago, with pins and wires, etc. I STILL shudder when I remember how painful it was.
My ankle will be fine quickly, it's just a little bruised and tender.
Wai, I know. It just seemed odd that I had so many screws left over, screws that I'm certain had something to do with the dashboard, not the stereo itself.

It is fairly usual to have leftover parts.
I once locked my left hand in a car door, with my keys in my pocket.
Okay, I'm relieved then.
And OUCH! for you poor hand! In my case, it was being parked on a fairly steep driveway, and the door closing on its own while my foot was outside.
I get worried if I DON'T have a mess of leftovers after an install, personally.
Yup... Sevesteen beat me to it. If everything works and fits well... e.g., no wiggling around or looseness... then you're OK.

Yep leftover parts are pretty much a requirement in any job like that - as long as everything is solid I wouldn't sweat it.

Hope the ankle heals quickly.
They give you extra parts that work in all models of vehicles that that stereo will fit in. You only use the parts that will fit your vehicle.
