It's been two weeks...

since I moved, and I finally feel like I'm completely settled. I went from a 1000 sq.ft. apartment to a 100 sq.ft. room (plus a 25 sq.ft. storage unit!), and said room is rather full with my belongings, but to me it feels cozy rather than cramped. I hung the last picture and unpacked the last book today, and I have a warm feeling of accomplishment at last.

The dogs seem finally to have made the adjustment, I no longer have to keep the bedroom door closed at night so they don't have an "accident" somewhere in the house (they now know to use the doggy-door to go outside). This is a Very Good Thing, because my roommate keeps the thermostat set just below "swelter", and my room got suffocatingly hot with the door closed, even with a fan going. My dogs sleep under the covers, you see...and they put out a LOT of heat!

Anyway, I no longer have the feeling that I'm simply spending the night at someone's house...I'm actually home.

It's a good feeling.

I'm glad. I know the last weekend when I talked to you, you were still adjusting. Glad it's starting to feel like your own place. Going shooting tomorrow. My shooting buddies are bringing their whole families, wives and daughters, to a open house at the gun club. It will be fun to finally meet everyone.

Brigid, everything is finally falling into place, thank goodness!
It sounds like you're going to have a blast today (no pun intended!) Have fun!

Blondie, I found it funny that both you and I were moving right around the same time. It's hard work, but it's so satisfying when it's done!

Oh God, I LOVE that feeling of being unpacked, because it was such a pain in the ass to unpack and rearrange in the first place, so when you're finally done (after slaving away your whole weekend), you finally feel relaxed and you do not want to move again because you'd have to start the process all over again. That would suck. That is how I feel... Luckily it'll be a few years before I have to move again!

Hey... Welcome Home! Small ain't all that bad with the right attitude...which you have. Speaking of which: I know all about "cozy," LOL! (But you knew that.)

Chaos, it is a real pain in the ass, but you're right, it is very sweet indeed when you're finally finished!

Thank you, Buck...yes, I'm sure you know all about cozy, dontcha?!

Roismhaire...you and me both. *sigh*
It's not to be anytime soon. I just applied to a nursing school here, and if I'm accepted, I'll be here until November or so of 2011...THEN I'll move to Texas, with my RN in hand (and my Texas massage license!)
