Exercise!

Being on vacation is hazardous to my waistline. I made a fortuitous discovery today, however:

Kayaking = Excellent upper-body workout!

My arms were shaking when I lifted the kayak out of the water, and I can already tell that I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Win!

If your kayak has foot rests, it is a whole body workout.
When you want to go faster, you sorta push with one foot, twist the waist, dip the shoulder and push with one arm and pull with the other.
With this the area from the hips to the ribcage do a lot of the work.
Or if you want to take it easy, you just sit there and gently paddle with just the arms.

Yes! It's an excellent core workout, too. Since I, at least, have to really work at staying upright and balanced. ;)

It'll work muscles you didn't even know you had!!! :-)

Yep, I've only done it once or twice, but Kayaking is hard work.
