You're not fooling us!

Stupid gas stations! We all know that when your sign says "Regular Unleaded $3.26 (and a teeny-tiny 9)", we're pretty much gonna be paying $3.27 per gallon for gas. So stop the stupid mind games and just put "Regular Unleaded $3.27" and let us be pleasantly surprised when we end up paying a skosh less at the pump.

Thank you.

$3.43 point nine here in the U.P. of Michigan. See you are a few cents per gallon better than us.

OK, killjoy here to spoil the fun. It's a taxes thing. It HAS to read that because that's what The Fed charges for gas tax (I mean, the 9/10 of a cent part, along with a lot more.)

That's what I was going to say, but then I decided to make sure. I looked it up. Turns out it was true long ago, more or less, but not now. It's just tradition. Stupid tradition! So, yeah, I'm with you.

By the way, I hope you have a swell time in Boston while I'm not there, and my apologies again for not being able to make it.
