I need to be faster...

getting out the door with the dogs after I wake up.

I apparently wasn't fast enough for Harley this morning, since instead of waiting for me to get my shoes on and open the door for him, he hopped into the cats' litter-box, trailing his leash no less, and peed there.

The funniest thing about all this was that after we had returned from our walk, the cats had buried Harley's deposit. Now THAT'S what I call service!

At least he had the good sense to hit the litterbox, where it's easy to clean.

That's actually really cool. He learned from the cats.

Loki, believe me...I'm counting my blessings!

Mike, I cheated: my dogs were trained as puppies to use the litter-box, we just haven't done that in years! Tucker especially is far too big to use one comfortably. I put out wee-wee pads for my dogs when I'm going to be gone for a long time (say, all day), and they use those. So Harley hopping into the litter-box surprised me.

Be glad that the dog didn't 'use' the cat!

Good for you, looks like the training took :-)

So much better things going INTO the cat box, than the dog taking things OUT of the cat box . . .

Now if you could just get him to use the toilet...
Hey, my cats do.

That is freakin' awesome!!! I wish I could teach Mitzi to go in Minka's litter box... As it is, she does not yet know that she could easily hop into the guest bathroom's bath tub where the litter box is hiding. And I don't want her getting ideas about smelly, crunchy snacks. :D

Christina - Is there some reason they can't hold it till you get home? Is that a little dog thing?

My Lab will go in the morning, then again when I get home in the evening. He has no problem holding it.

V.I. LOL! No, but my dogs frequently pee on each other (outside!). I have to remind them never to cross the streams...

Thanks, NFO! They're crazy pups, but I love 'em.

Lissa, I KNOW! Ew...kitty roca...blech.

Jenni, my dogs' asses are far too skinny to perch up there!

PMPN (that's what I'll call you from now on...), you could train Mitzi to do just about anything, I bet. If you have the time!

Mike, it's an Italian Greyhound thing. I don't know if it's physical or what, but they're notoriously difficult to housetrain. I'd say mine can go about six hours, tops, without peeing, but that's about it. Harley, the smaller one, can actually hold it longer than Tucker. Don't get me wrong, they certainly prefer to go outside. But if there's no other option, they'll go on the wee-wee pads. Or in the litterbox! LOL. Oh, but if it's super cold outside, all bets are off...

"kitty roca" . . . is it possible to LOL and gag at the same time? 'Cause that's what I was doing!

Well, if you did it, I'd say it's possible! ;)
