of not exactly Earth-shattering importance, my hair has stopped falling out so I think I'll try to grow it long again. Carry on, Peeps.
In other, other news, I think I might have changed my mind about going to school in the Caribbean. Yes, it's sexy and all, but it's also ridiculously expensive and complicated, not to mention I'd be leaving Silver in the U.S. without a parent on the same continent. I dunno, Texas is looking more and more attractive.

Texas is the place to be.
But you'd be closer to me if you lived in the Carribean.
Well if you change your mind, I'm not that far from N.D. and would happy to be a surrogate "aunt" for Silver. She and Brigid Jr. are probably much alike.
Texas is good though. I know some really fine people down there, Lawdog and Laura and the Trooper, Pleghmy, Old Bind Dog, and others.
Alan, you got that right!
Blondie...:( But Texas and Florida aren't really that far from each other, and Texas is definitely closer to you than Las Vegas!
Brigid, you're the BOMB! That's so kind of you to offer to keep an eye on Silver, she'd be in good hands with you, I've no doubt. One of the main reasons for me to change my mind about the Caribbean is exactly that: I have many, many friends in Texas already, and know I'd make many more were I to move there. I moved here to Vegas knowing no one, and I was thinking yesterday, "Do I really want to do that AGAIN?" Nah. I'll go to where I know I'll receive a warm welcome. :)
Yup... there's a lot to like about Tejas. I've been in NM for over six years now but refuse to relinquish my TX drivers license, et al. And the border is only 15 miles away, anyhoo.
I only lived one year in Houston, but it wAs a great year. Texas is a lovely place, hopefully they have more veggies and fruit in winter than they did twenty years ago..
I want to say wow to your before and after photos... you've given me hope... now if you can just give me the cure to chocolate addiction...
I recently received a photo of my gorgeous nephew after his stint on the islands for several years. You don't want to do the intense UV and beach thing, believe me.
Hey, I just did a new post that I am dying for you to read - it's another naughty taunt for someone we know. grin grin grin
?! my word verification thingy here is 'biolin'!
YAYYYY!!!!!
C'mon over, girl!
Texas IS great. If you did make it I'd be one of the ones welcoming you!
I call "dibs" on having Christina live close to me.
Buck, so you're close enough to make a quick dash across the border if necessary? I like the way you think!
Noonie, everything I hear about Texas just makes me want to move there more! Don't worry about your chocolate addiction: There's nothing wrong with eating chocolate, just feed your addiction a little at a time.
Lin, that was certainly part of my decision as well. I'm extremely pale and already use SPF 85 sunblock. The thought of the horrific sunburns I'd be likely to get, not to mention the permanent damage I'd do to my skin, makes me shudder with revulsion.
Roismhaire! Thank you so much, that's very sweet of you to say! I'll make sure to work in a different town from you, because I would never want to be competition!
Holly, your wish is my command!
I think you should still go to the Caribbean. The ocean is closer and the climate is better. There are beaches! More of them.
I know why YOU think so...;)
I have to go where I'll be happy, don't you think? Where I won't end up paying off student loans when I'm already at retirement age. Where my real friends are.
You are always welcome, you know.
Come on, we're waiting.
(and we got that fruit and veggie thing cleared up)
Dick
Dick! Thanks for stopping by (it's about time...;))
I can't wait to meet you and Kelly IRL, we'll have a blast. Not to mention that you'll both get massages.
