2 years of college in NH and that word has tainted my vocabulary for decades. Oh and I'm so relieved your blog isn't gone. I was about to go stalking for you when you commented on my facebook page so I knew you were ok.
Has anybody yet told you that something is "wicked pissah"? That's a good thing, in case you don't know. They both modify each other, amplify each other.
Anyway, while "wicked" has somewhat survived the homogenization of the local language, "pissah" seems to have gone the way of the dodo. As a stand-alone, it can be either an exclamation of joy or disgust, depending upon the inflection and/or context, to wit:
"You got into the movies without paying? Pissah!"
but...
"They're raising the sales tax to 7%? Pissah!"
or...
"Your brother, Herman? Yeah, he's a real pissah, that one."
Zelda, my gmail account apparently was hacked, so everything was gone until I could get it straightened out. Thanks for your concern, my dear!
Jim, I *have* heard "wicked pissah", believe it or not, but it was said in jest to clue me in on local slang. I've not heard "pissah" used at all, generally speaking.
Zoli, you're welcome! (For what, I have no clue...:))
