'Nother Update

So...I've found a place to live!

Actually, I found it via Craigslist the Saturday after Thanksgiving. :)
I'm renting a room from a gentleman who lives in exactly in the area I wanted to move to, so YAY!

He lives in a large home on several acres of land, raises sheep, rabbits, and chickens, and has a 2,000 sq.ft. garden in his backyard that he could use some help with. Hey, the price is right, and if I get to eat the produce from that garden, of COURSE I'm going to help! I told David (my future landlord/roomie) that as long as he showed me what to do, I'd be glad to help out. Oh, and kids and pets are welcome...he has plenty of room. (Yes, I googled him and checked the sex offender registry, give me some credit!) Plus, I do have good instincts about people.

In other news, I have a part-time (weekend) job waiting for me, too! At a brand-new spa about a half-hour (freeway) drive from Newtown. That was a complete shot in the dark, btw. They hadn't advertised an opening, I just googled local spas and emailed them with my resume attached. Then they contacted ME. Life is good.

Silver and I roll out of Vegas on Friday the 18th of December, and I do NOT plan on looking back.

Don't worry, I'll keep you posted.

I meet Phlegmy and Lawdog for supper as I was down their way yesterday on a quick trip for work. We talked of the move and are glad you are closer, at least to her, I'll have to fly down to visit.

I hope you have a safe and exciting trip. I'll give you call when I get home.

ZELDA!! I think we're driving straight across on I40, but I'm sure there will be other opportunities. It will be so great to see you and Jethro again. :D

Woohoo...look out Texas... please grow something other than those darn cactus leaves.. they used to scare me in the grocery store... what on earth do you make with those things?

Deck them halls y'all!

Kewl! Things are breakin' your way, and that's GREAT good news!

Don't forget Santa's elf who is helping with the move. :)

Christina RN LMT said...

Noonie...cactus leaves?! I don't even know to what you are referring!
I think my landlord grows food only.

Buck, thank you! I think so, too.

Christina RN LMT said...

The elf will get extra milk and cookies. Santa's share, as a matter of fact!

Dick said...

Yep, looking forward to seeing you and the kiddo.

Christina RN LMT said...

Dick, it will be our pleasure! I consider you my blog-father, you know. :D

ya'll = singular. all ya'll = plural. Least I reckon that's the way it is out yonder in Texas.

Christina RN LMT said...

Nope. "Y'all" is always, always plural. Even in Texas, as far as I know! :D

Buck said...

Beg pardon, Miz Christina. be603 is correct. There WILL be dissenting opinions on this, guar-ahn-teed, but those opinions will come from immigrants and newly-minted Southerners of all stripes. But "all y'all" IS plural. I know from whence I speak; I refer to my Jawja pedigree... before I became a Texan.

Christina RN LMT said...

Well, maybe "all Y'all" is plural, I'm not arguing that, but I have had it pounded into my head that "y'all" is NEVER USED TO REFER TO ONE PERSON. So both are plural, is that right?

Our grocery store in Houston sold them, can't remember what it was called, big one on Westheimer and uhm... darn... can't remember... was passed the Galleria...

It was about the only vegetable you could get for a couple of months of the year

Wilshire... that was it... I think it was 1992.

I can't wait to visit y'all! :)

Blog father? Christ... That's a scary thought considering our age.

Well, you have our numbers. Give us a ring whenever you feel up for another drive. :-)

Aiiieee! Chinese spam!

"Y'all" is singular, Christina. As in "what y'all wanna drink?" or "y'all come in and set a spell."

Cactus leaves are known as nopales. And they're quite good, too!

Christina RN LMT said...

Noonie, that sounds bizarre. Were they any good?

Tally, I can't wait to see you and your sister!

Dick, I mean that your blog inspired me to start my blog, that's all. You are far too young to be my father. Or I'm far too old to be your daughter! :P

Zelda, I'll be calling you! :D

Buck, I deleted the spam, Yay!
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on "Y'all", because everyone I've ever spoken to (from the South, I might add), has confirmed to me that one never refers to or calls one person "y'all". I'd rather be safe than be considered a wannabe, ya know?!

dick said...

Y'all is singular refering to the plural as in you all.

And yep, I use the word every damn day and make money by using it.

Christina RN LMT said...

So, when you're talking to one person, one individual, you actually say "Y'all" to him or her? My brain is hurting now.

dick said...

You all condensed is y'all.

Simple enough?

Christina RN LMT said...

I understand that, it's easy enough. :D

Thanks, Dick.
