Did you know that DFW airport is bigger than the entire island of Manhattan? I didn't, either! And I found this out by reading a Pro-Texas billboard on the side of the highway. I didn't know they felt it necessary to publish propaganda for the state...I thought the awesomeness of it spoke for itself. LOL!
Wow! That's pretty huge!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been there for a while when a flight cancelled. I think it was something like 3 and a half miles if you walked from one end of the terminal to another.
ReplyDeleteGood way to burn off that airport food.
Oh, wow. Now that *is* huge.
ReplyDeleteDFW is awesome, but you can gamble at the airport in Amsterdam - something I don't think Texans are quite ready for.
ReplyDeleteHeh, sounds like McCarran in Las Vegas, Bag Blog!
ReplyDeleteWow... Either that airport is humongous, or Manhattan Island is not... Or both.
ReplyDeleteBoth. :D
ReplyDeleteWhen they built it in the 60's they purposely bought WAY too much land... good thing they did :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right, they've certainly needed it!
ReplyDeleteDamn. I had no idea it was that big. I remember being about 9 or 10 and having to spend 5 hours there on a layover. That's eternity to a kid, of course, and it was one of the most boring 5 hours in my entire life.
ReplyDeleteJim, didn't you have a book or two with you? I'm never bored if I have something to read. Of course, nowadays the kids all have laptops and Nintendo DSs and iPods and...
ReplyDeletePropaganda FOR the State is certainly different than propaganda BY the state, innit? Yet another reason to love Tejas...
ReplyDeleteMost airports suck, by definition. More so now that we have TSA (Terminally Stupid Administration).
Buck, you got that right!
ReplyDeleteAs I've always said to my male lovers--it's not the size that counts, it's how well you use it.
ReplyDeletePeople from all over the world dream of seeing Manhattan.
I've yet to meet someone who longs to see DFW.
just sayin
DN, I know. I just think it's amazing that an airport, any airport, can be that big. And I've never dreamed of seeing Manhattan...way too urban and crowded for my tastes!
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean I want to go hang out at DFW? Hell, no! ;)
