It's been a looooooong time since I posted!
I've kinda been stuck in the Slough of Despond. It's hard finding a job as a brand-new RN with no experience. Luckily, I finally found a job! Granted, it's exactly the opposite of what I want to do with my shiny, new license, but SOMEBODY WANTS ME, W00T!
Yeah, pediatric home healthcare. Well, regardless: I will do my very best for my patients and their families. While still looking for that hospital gig I truly desire...
Wish me luck, I start next Wednesday!
On the bright side, you will rapidly become competent and comfortable with a class of patients that scares the shit out of most healthcare prodessionals.
ReplyDeleteThat's good experience, there.
And its experience, so you won't be quite so shiny to the next folks and hopefully they'll be more open to hiring you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
GOOD LUCK!

And bless you for taking such an ardent task!
Yay for the all-important First Job In Field! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI know you'll kick butt at it, too. :-)
Hey, lady.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the job!
But DO. NOT. SETTLE.
You're kind of a big deal. Remember that.
Thanks, Everyone!
ReplyDeleteI truly appreciate the kind words and encouragement. I'm actually stuck in limbo right now. It's really private duty nursing, where I spend the entire shift caring for one patient (in the home/school), and my company didn't consider that the parents have final say in assignments when they put me on the schedule. *sigh*
In the meantime, I'm still applying EVERYWHERE. Fed.gov. Texas, NH, VA, Bureau of Prisons...JUST GIVE ME A JOB ALREADY!
Excellent news! You'll do great Christina
ReplyDeleteGood news, and good luck!
