This resulted in laws (usually warmer climate areas) that allow motorcyclists to use the space between lanes to keep moving if auto traffic is stopped in order to avoid engine seizure. It's less of an issue these days with more and more water cooled (w/ fans) cycles. I dunno how the laws read anymore, but I'm sure running people over, speeding, or avoiding traffic control (stoplights/signs) is still not allowed.Mulliganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01615757509298241181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36613281.post-11265401236063936502013-06-29T20:08:35.845-04:002013-06-29T20:08:35.845-04:00Car-ma (well motorcycle version) is always a win. ...Car-ma (well motorcycle version) is always a win. Guy about ran me off the road after an ice storm. The road was a sheet of ice so I was going as fast as I could and not lose control. He ended up speeding past, gave me the finger, spun out right into the ditch. It was a pretty deserted road.

I pulled up, he sheepishly rolled the window down. I said "are you hurt" Are there any kids with you in the back". He said (still embarrassed) "No". I said "do you have a phone". He looked around and said "No )#(@ I left it at home". I held mine up and said "sucks to be you". And drove off.

I did let the locals know he was there and that he'd been driving recklessly when he went off the road. They know me so I'm sure they had a nice chat with him,Home on the Rangehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03836315423040719919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36613281.post-33901782857480977842013-06-28T14:23:23.861-04:002013-06-28T14:23:23.861-04:00Dulce et decorum estDulce et decorum estAesophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07834464741531503378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36613281.post-17961133513847869392013-06-28T09:54:10.928-04:002013-06-28T09:54:10.928-04:00It still warms the cockles of my heart just to thi...It still warms the cockles of my heart just to think about it, and it's two days later. :DChristina RN LMThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03260505524676910667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36613281.post-7690847368899073722013-06-28T08:04:03.953-04:002013-06-28T08:04:03.953-04:00Yep, THAT classifies as a WIN!!! :-)Yep, THAT classifies as a WIN!!! :-)Old NFOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16404197287935017147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36613281.post-66707881753939876482013-06-27T17:44:33.378-04:002013-06-27T17:44:33.378-04:00Waaaaay back in the day I stopped a bicyclist for ...Waaaaay back in the day I stopped a bicyclist for doing the same thing. He almost hit a woman and her kid going from the street up onto the sidewalk to avoid the stopsign. He didn't think traffic laws applied to bicycles. When I wrote him a ticket he got a lawyer to fight it, but I explained the situation to the PA and the judge. Nope he got hit for running the stopsign, driving on the pedestrian right of way and improper operation of a conveyance. I didn't even know we had an ordinance for the last one until the Judge pointed it out, so I served him with that ticket outside of the courtroom right in front of his lawyer.Mark/GreyLockehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11801317480220161225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36613281.post-44488064095108136772013-06-27T14:39:41.153-04:002013-06-27T14:39:41.153-04:00When I went home from the hospital after my daught...When I went home from the hospital after my daughter was born, I was very tired, and driving about 5mph under the speed limit on a narrow twisty road. The car behind me got impatient, passed on a curve. That made me nervous, so I braked a bit...then skidded to a stop when a highway patrolman was coming in the opposite direction. No crash, but I remained stopped while the patrolman did a U turn, and I saw them a bit later at the side of the road--for some reason the patrolman looked a bit animated in his discussion with the other driver.
