I would love nursing school so much more...

...if there weren't so many damned papers to write. I am absolutely loving my clinical experience, and lectures are interesting. I'm learning so much! I don't mind the exams, I see the necessity. If only I could go to lecture, take exams, and have clinical THREE TIMES A WEEK.

And never write another paper.

Then I'd be completely and absolutely happy.

*sigh*

But then you would be completely unprepared for all the (written) reports you will spend the vast majority of your time filling out so as to justify your employer charging the patient for all that "patient care" you spend so much of your work day documenting.

Want to know why I got out of EMS 30 years ago?

NFO, I know. But it never hurts to dream, right?

Will, I have no problem with the nursing notes, those are interesting to write, and I completely understand their importance as part of continuity of care and communication(there is very little actual "report" given at my hospital, only if the oncoming nurse has any questions after reading the previous nurse's note.) I just question the importance of the stupid "concept maps" we have to do (plus the myriad of other papers), because we will NEVER have to do another concept map again. Ever.
