Is there any reason why...

a person would have a Roman numeral II tattooed on her right butt-cheek? Suggestions in comments, please.

Uhh.. Maybe she is the second? Who the hell knows. I do have the roman numeral 3 after my name and I do not have a desire to replicate it on my butt!

Happy New Year to you and yours!

To denote which generation of clone the individual is?

Seriously though, you were able to restrain your curiosity and not ask? I'm impressed.

BGM, that would be totally unprofessional. RARELY (like maybe once or twice in five years) have I complimented someone on a tattoo, but that's it.

I figured as much. But I would have been hard pressed to suppress my curiosity.

If it was an old tat it may be that the person is one half of identical twins. The parent(s) being unable to tell them apart decided to mark them.

In Eastern Europe, especially the Baltic nations, Roman numerals are used to represent the days of the week in hours-of-operation signs displayed on dorrs and windows of local businesses. II would be open til 7:30 PM.

Maybe those are the hours her backside is open for business.

It was probably the astrology symbol for Gemini. My massage therapists are about 50/50 when talking asking about my tattoos. Then again, mine cover a lot more surface area.

Side II ? Was there a 'I' on the
obverse side?

She's keeping count. Four vertical ticks and a slack across them would make five. Sort of like notches on a belt.
