I LURVE the thrift store!

I just bought five pairs of jeans, two belts, and three sweaters for a grand total of $32.50. You can't beat that with a stick!

I got lucky because the jeans were half-off today, $2.50 a pair instead of $5.00.

WIN!

Awesome! I luves me a good thrift store score. Haven't been able to beat my own best score: a brand new vest for 50 cents, and that was at least 10 years ago. I still have the darn thing, too, and I even wear it from time to time. :)

Thanks for reminding me -- I need to go scour my local 2nd hand shops, it's been a while!

Isn't it fun? I love feeling like an explorer searching for treasure, and when you find it? VICTORY! Like a brand-new vest for 50 cents...:)

I used to find the BEST ties at thrift stores, back in the day when I had to wear that sort of thing. I'm talking about vintage stuff from the 30s-40s-50s... and cheap, too. One of my best kept sartorial secrets, back in the day.

Did they have snazzy designs? I like ties that are a little off-the-wall...

Depends on your definition of "snazzy." I liked the hand-painted ties from the 50s, and they tended to have a lot of floral designs. But I also found some rather bizarre abstract designs, as well. Some of the color combinations were so wild you could hear me coming from a block away. ;-)
