Overheard in a car...

Me: "You know, there's no age where you suddenly realize, 'Wow! I'm all grown up!' I mean, look at me, I'm almost forty and I don't really feel any different than I did ten or fifteen years ago, I'm just muddling through every day trying to survive."

Silver: "Wow. Forty is waving at you, Mom!"

Me: "Yeah? Well I give forty the finger."

Silver: "Forty is sad..."

Well, I gave 40 the finger and it did absolutely NO good... I got older, anyway. Which is better than the alternative of NOT growing older. Ahem.

You know, Buck...I said the same thing to my kids frequently, when they'd go on and on (sorta like Peter Pan) about not wanting to grow up! You either grow older or you die. Those are your choices. But "aging gracefully?" Not gonna happen!
I will fight to look younger 'til the bitter end (with good taste, though!)
