Firing off a quick one...

just to warn you of the onslaught of pics from Silver's Induction ceremony! Aside from the fact that they misspelled/mispronounced her last name, the ceremony was fabulous. I was very impressed.

Afterwards, to celebrate, we went home and changed, then headed over to the Red Rock Casino (our favorite) and saw the new Indiana Jones movie. What can I say? It totally rocked. Was quite over the top on occasion (but it's Indy!), but still extremely entertaining.

And Harrison Ford is still hot and could eat crackers in my bed anytime!

I think HF looks good, too. It's nice that the next Indy movie is so good-- woulda been sad if they'd crapped out on it.

Did you hear that the communists were upset because the movie portrayed them in a bad light?

Gee...I wonder what would've caused the world to have a negative view of communism?

Sigh ... what' a movie? The term sounds vaguely familiar though.

Congrats to Silver!

Phlegmmy, I know! We really enjoyed ourselves. You just have to suspend disbelief (it IS Indy, after all), and go with the flow.

Oh, Blonde and Fabulous One - I have no answer to your question. It shall remain one of the unsolved mysteries in life, much like where the missing socks disappear to...

Jethro - like I said: over the top...I kept expecting the bad gal (brilliantly played by Cate Blanchett, whom I did NOT recognize, by the way) to mutter, "Get moose and squir-rell!"

Poor commies. It's not like they've done ANYTHING wrong. Ever.

Lin - YOU know...moving pictures? Sitting in a darkened theater with your shoes sticking to the detritus on the floor? Shushing your obnoxious neighbor who won't get off the phone? Dodging gummy bears tossed by the toddler in the row behind you?

Eh, maybe you're not missing much!

Oh, and thanks for the good wishes for Silver, Lin!

Ah-hah! Thanks - NOW I remember. I'm not saying it's been a while but the last time I sat in a theater, nobody carried cell phones. Almost good to hear that at least the sticky floors haven't changed any (which was always preferable to finding sticky chairs).

Putz, Silver is my daughter's on-line alias! It's short for Silver the Evil Chao, or Silverevilchao! It's one small way of protecting her identity.
